We just received word from NAHB’s (The National Association of Home Builders) that our project, The Residences of The Hotel McGibbon has captured a silver award for Best Presentation Centre in the National Sales and Marketing Council’s (USA) annual awards event.

The Presentation Center created for The Residences of the Hotel McGibbon acknowledges the historic roots of the project. The design fosters a “hotel” feel with check-in/concierge desk, key holder piece, lounge furniture and cozy spaces. An original brick wall from The Hotel McGibbon has been preserved and contributes to the integration of past and future. An art gallery has been included in the Presentation Centre, connecting the condominium to the art and cultural community of Georgetown. This Sidedoor Gallery displays photography of the original Hotel McGibbon.

Floorplan displays dominate the space and are named after cocktails – another nod to the historic roots of the Hotel McGibbon. The space is well-planned and visually addresses the benefits of living in Georgetown, with its slower-paced lifestyle, artistic focus and idyllic location within commuting distance of downtown Toronto. Two monitors running in a continuous loop tell the project’s story through renderings, quotes and lifestyle photography. A digital projected image on the back wall of the model suite, provides a realistic view of Main Street at night.

This Presentation Center has successfully created an environment that sensitively merges the historic Hotel McGibbon landmark with an exciting new contemporary condominium. It incorporates aspects of the history with dreams of a shiny, new future – providing prospective purchasers with the opportunity to live in a brand new historic landmark with all the trappings of modernity.
